Dr.-Ing. Rafal Dorociak is Head of the Safety Platform group at HELLA. He is responsible for all safety topics with regards to the platform development approach in all product areas within the HELLA Business Division Electronics. He has worked as Functional Safety Management for projects in the product areas Body Controller Modules and Driver Assistance Systems.

Prior to his appointment at HELLA he was a Research Associate at the Chair for Product Engineering of the Heinz Nixdorf Institute in Paderborn, Germany. In this time, he worked in several engineering projects in different roles (software architect, safety manager, project manager and systems engineer).

He studied at the University of Lodz in Poland and at the University of Paderborn in Germany, where he received his M.Sc. in Computer Science and his doctor of engineering degree on the topic of early assurance of reliability of advanced mechatronic systems.
